The tool allows the realization of analysis tasks from large periods of time, and also the register of rainfall and other variables.
Every other time, meteorologists are object of criticism by people because of their forecasts, even more so when phenomena just like the ones happened during last week in the center zone of Chile occur. Nevertheless, there´s tools for not totally depend on these reports and thus have mayor references climate wise, just like the one offered by the Center for Climate and Resilience Research.
Through the site explorador.cr2.cl, the users can access a simple data base, with which we can observe from the presence of rainfall in a place, flows, average temperature and other variables.
What is interesting is that the tool also allows to carry studies in time ranges (from 1940 to 2016, according to La Tercera). Very handy when elaborating academic or more professional reports, to this way observe the behaviour of the climate during some periods.
The service also allows to make a screen capture of the map we´d be using, and has a very intuitive caption system, as for example the accumulation of rainfall.
The climate explorer gathers information from the Chilean Meteorological Office, the Waters General Office and the Ministry of the Environment.
